WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAY 12

Bombs of destruction threaten our world, they say, “We need’em for defending!” Millions of citizen must hunger for their insanity wiping out our whole planet, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a memorial graphic for the late great Sabu.

The usual montage of talent arriving at the building follows.

A recap of Paul Heyman’s master plan to cajole “Main Event” Jey Uso into defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins and the failure of that plan due to Sami Zayn’s and CM Punk’s interference follows.

CM Punk makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He’s pissed off but he’s a fortunate man because he calls this place home. The dust has settled from WrestleMania and he’s nursed his injuries but he cannot shake being pissed off. He’s got a lot of enemies and it’d be easier for him to list who he’s NOT pissed off at right now, but number one with a big fat bullet is himself.

Yeah, he’s mad at himself, because we’ve been here before. This isn’t the first time Paul Heyman stabbed CM Punk in the back, and once shame on you, twice, shame on Punk, but hey he wants to trust his friends. Almost twelve years ago Heyman smashed a ladder into his head and made him get thirteen staples but he thought they had both grown as people.

Jey Uso tried to warn him, but Paul is Paul, and he’s a fat little snake, but he’s more mad at himself than he is at Paul. And of course he’s mad at Temu CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and we all know how this journey ends. He can’t wait to get hands on Heyman and squeeze his fat little neck until his eyes pop.

Enter Paul Heyman.

Punk tells him to get in the ring and explain himself with the understanding that whatever words he chooses will be his last.

Enter Seth Rollins, dressed entirely in brown leather and flanked by Bron Breakker.

Rollins gets on the mic and says that just when he thinks Punk can’t get more selfish or egotistical, he finds a way to top himself. Paul Heyman was CM’s best friend and he made his life hell on the road to WrestleMania and now he’s out here gaslighting everyone that Heyman is the one that betrayed him?

Seth says it makes him sick, and Heyman believed in him for years when no one else did, but he believes that Punk is scum, trash, human excrement, and he asks if he just loves being on the wrong side of history or what? Oh wait, he gets it, Punk loves to play the victim, come out here and booo, cry him a river, poor CM Punk so desperately wants to die a martyr?

Well Rollins believes that can be arranged and he hopes CM has prepared his last words. He gives Bron Breakker a tap on the shoulder and Breakker slides in the ring. Punk spikes him with the microphone but Bron gets him in the corner with shoulder blocks and right hands, forcing CM to cover up!

A big boot cuts Breakker off, Punk jumps Rollins and beats him down until Bron cutsh im off and puts boots to him instead! Sami Zayn makes the save but the odds aren’t even and Breakker suplexes him away! Chair in hand, Seth is gonna take him out but “Main Event” Jey Uso makes the save!

The heels light on Uso but Punk and Zayn take the opportunity to go get chairs and retake the ring, sending them packing!

Penta makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, commentary hypes up the Saudi tour at the end of next month.

Pat McAfee makes his entrance right as Michael Cole explains that he’s late today and will be joining him at some point.

Pat takes his seat and explains that he was delayed in getting cleared to return to commentary.

Chad Gable vs. Penta

Gable in control in the feeling out, whip reversed, back suplex, cover for two, up in the turnbuckles, tearing at Penta’s mask, but Zero slips out and sends him to the floor with a tijeras! Cero Miedo, off the ropes, slingshot plancha but Chad counters with a headbutt and tells us that lucha libre sucks as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Penta counters a headbutt with a superkick! Headstand double stomp for two, Gable comes back with a bridging German suplex for two! A little back and forth, Zero wants the lungblower out of the corner but Chad shrugs him off, moonsault off the top, no deal, switch an ankle lock, Penta fights out, superkick… NOPE!

Zero wants Sacrifice, Gable reverses back to the ankle lock, Penta crawling for the ropes, Chad pulls him back to center! Zero posts up on his hands but Chad counters to a victory roll for two! Big chop, suplex lift into the corner, climbing up top with him, jockeying for position… FLIP PILEDRIVER OUT OF THE CORNER AND IT IS OVER!

Penta wins by pinfall with a flip piledriver.

Roxanne Perez and Giulia cut a promo about how the women’s division isn’t safe and they’re taking over, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we go to the Judgment Day clubhouse.

Dominik Mysterio gets off the phone with Liv Morgan, who’s doing great but confused him by saying “good morning,” to which JD McDonagh asks if he’s ever heard of time zones before. Dom shrugs it off and confronts Finn Balor about not being helpful enough at Backlash, but Balor papers it over with “all’s well that end’s well” and says he’s still gonna take care of AJ Styles for him tonight.

Mysterio accepts this and then the rest of Judgment Day explain the rotation of the earth to him as we cut away.

We get footage of GUNTHER vs. Pat McAfee.

McAfee talks about being battered and bruised and even popping a blood vessel in his eye and says he respects GUNTHER and hopes he respects them a little bit more as well now.

New Day make their entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Sami Zayn rolls up on CM Punk and asks if they’re good ahead of their tag match against Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Punk says he is and he isn’t, y’know? It’s hard to trust anybody right now. Zayn says he knows the feeling and he felt the same way before WarGames but that worked out pretty well and they both like to do things their own way but together they can take Rollins and Breakker out. Punk agrees and they fistbump about it.

Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed) vs. War Raiders (Erik & Ivar)

New Day are on commentary for this one.

Brutus getting worked over by the erstwhile vikings early on, Creeds turn the tables on Erik and put boots to him in the corner! Erik back body drops Julius over the ropes and into his own brother but they just knocked Ivar down so Raider Bald gets a head of steam and goes for a dive only to eat a forearm and a vertical suplex on the floor as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Banzai Drop from Ivar, cartwheel to a reverse roundhouse, fired up, Warbeard goes up top but Julius springs up with him, tag to Brutus, superplex and a moonsault… SO CLOSE! Raiders working Julius over, Brutus breaks up a cover! Everybody lays everybody else out and all four guys are down!

Creeds plant Ivar with a double spinebuster but Erik breaks it up! Brutus and Erik on the floor, Raider lays him out, New Day run interference, Warbeard up on Julius’ shouders…

Creed Brothers win by pinfall with the Brutus Ball Device on Ivar.

Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman, and Seth Rollins are backstage.

Rollins tells Breakker that Punk and Zayn probably think they got one up on them, got them against the wall, maybe even they feel like they’re winning, but they have no idea what he is capable of. He tells Bron he’s got one more thing he wants him to do before he takes off— have some fun!

Adam Pearce finishes chatting with “Main Event” Jey Uso backstage and we go to break.

Back from commercial, “Main Event” Jey Uso makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He says he’s got a lot going on, there’s a big target on his big back, and he wants to get something off his chest. Logan Paul’s talking out the side of his neck and ducking him, but at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it’s the two of them, face to face, and afterwards, he’ll still be your World—

Enter GUNTHER.

He says this is the first time they’re meeting since Uso beat him, and Jey can’t help but rub it in his face that he tapped out. GUNTHER says some stuff about Jey not being a natural champion like him and he’s surprised Uso hasn’t spread the news himself with his big mouth, because the winner out of him and Logan Paul has the honor of handing the World Heavyweight Championship over to the Ring General.

And he hopes it’s Jey, because he’d love nothing more than to get in the ring with him, outclass him, and remind him where his place is. Uso throws his glasses off and says he’s in his place as world champion, running this place. He’s gonna handle the YouTuber and then he’s gonna run it back with the Ring General, and it’s gonna go the same way WrestleMania did.

IYO SKY cuts a promo about how Roxanne Perez and Giulia will be learning the same lesson that Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair learned at WrestleMania.

We get a memorial for Sabu. Unusually for WWE memorials it’s not a video package but rather just a montage of still pictures with commentary memorializing him over piano music.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Ludwig Kaiser is interviewed backstage.

Before he can get a word in we hear a commotion and the camera pans to show Bron Breakker standing over an injured Jey Uso. Road agents swarm, with Shane “Hurricane” Helms taking point, and Sami Zayn and CM Punk both arrive to check on him, too.

AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor

Circling, collar and elbow, Balor grabs a wristlock, shift to a side headlock, shot off, leapfrog, drop down, dropkick sends Finn to the floor and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Styles with a snap suplex, cover for a nearfall, scoop and a slam, Balor turns the tide, Cobra Twist applied! Styles rush, discus lariat and both men are down and out as we go to break!

Back from commercial, AJ hits a superplex and both men are down and out! Styles gets the Calf Killer! Wrenching it back, next phase, whip across, Sling Blade connects! Shotgun dropkick follows, Finn goes up top but AJ rolls out of the way of the Coup de Grace and goes right back to the Calf Killer!

Balor rolls through, Styles keeps him out of the ropes, Styles Clash… STILL NO! Carlito and JD McDonagh run interference, AJ takes them out, springboards in, caught and countered into the inverted 1916… SO CLOSE! Penta dives on Colon off the barricade and then takes JD out with a quebradora! Flip piledriver on Carlito!

Styles lines Finn up…

AJ Styles wins by pinfall with the Phenomenal Forearm.

Back from commercial, Becky Lynch is perched in the turnbuckles, microphone in hand.

She says she wasn’t beaten on Saturday, no, Lyra Valkyria was beaten on Saturday. We don’t believe her? Well Lyra went to the hospital and she went to her nice big bus and basked in her own brilliance. Because even after everything Valkyria has done to her, she still made her the best version of herself and gave her the best match of her career, and she has never mattered more than she does right now.

But when the bell rang after the match, she didn’t hear defeat, she heard an alarm going off in her ear about how much she’s been manipulated not just by Lyra but by all of the crowd. She walked away from all this for almost a year because we asked her to. She heard the reaction to her last title win and read the comments and she walked away.

And if she’s not here for the title why is she even here? She has us to thank for her career, we carried her on our shoulders to the main event of WrestleMania and we were all in this together, but then she won and we couldn’t see ourselves in her anymore because all we know is failure.

And we hate what we cannot understand. A friend asked if she missed it while she was out and she said she missed wrestling but she liked herself better than ever and she was briefly confused by what she was saying and then she realized it was because she didn’t have to listen to our lies.

She doesn’t have to spin her wheels trying to prove she’s not what we say she is, so from now on, she is whatever we say she is. Greedy, cutthroat, selfish, all of that. All those girls in the back are gonna find out what it’s like to be held down by the Man.

We get a Rusev video package where he says he doesn’t want to do any of this, he wants to go home and be rich, but he was programmed to do this and he cannot rest until all of his brothers wake up. Last week Akira Tozawa stepped up to him and we cheered him right into the flatline, but still they care what we think.

It will hurt him to hurt them, but he would rather crush them in hand than see them fall into the abyss.

Maxxine Dupri and Natalya are backstage with Akira Tozawa and Adam Pearce.

Pearce says he can’t give Tozawa a match against Rusev but he will once he’s cleared, and Sheamus rolls up to tell Akira that he knows he’ll give the hairy Neaderthal hell when he’s cleared. Pearce congratulates him on his return last week and Sheamus wants to keep things rolling with a match against Grayson Waller.

Adam books the match!

Commentary hypes up next week’s show.

Giulia makes her entrance to send us to break.

Giulia & Roxanne Perez vs. IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley

SKY and Perez to start, IYO takes her down, kicked off, Lou Thesz Press, mounted punches, rolling to the ropes in the brawl and forced to break! Mat slam from SKY, cover for two, side headlock, block the shoot off, Roxanne gets her in the corner, puts boots to her, tag to Giulia for double-teams.

The match breaks down, Ripley gets into it with Perez while the Beautiful Madness does a standing neck twist. SKY gets back to her feet, dropkick, reaching for the tag, Perez pulls Rhea off the apron and slaps her! Ripley gives chase, Giulia dives on her and Roxanne dropkicks her into the post!

IYO dives on Roxanne, Giulia takes her out with a dropkick and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Perez grinding SKY down with a hammerlock, crawling for the corner, tag to Ripley! Short-arm kick, German suplex, Razor’s Edge and a basement dropkick, cover for two! Setting Roxanne up top, climbing to join her, jockeying for position, Perez with the avalanche Frankensteiner for two!

Tag to Giulia, teeing off on Rhea, quick tag back to Perez, snap suplex, double jump quebrada, cover for two! Putting Ripley in the corner, uppercut, second try countered into a back suplex facebuster! Match breaking down into “everybody do somethign cool” territory, Giulia with a small package, SKY kicks out!

Revolution northern lights bomb blocked, roll through, double stomp from IYO sets her up! Giant step, perching up top, diving moonsault connects but Perez breaks it up! SKY with some separation, Rhea throws her into Giulia, ducks under Pop Rox, missile dropkick from IYO takes Roxanne out!

Giulia trips Rhea up on the apron, Roxanne cuts IYO off in the turnbuckles, butterfly from the Beautiful Madness… BUTTERFLY SUPERPLEX! Scoop lift, northern lights bomb… RIPLEY BREAKS IT UP! IYO hits a butterfly backbreaker on Giulia, fired up, charging in, back body drop to the apron! Up top, Rhea tags, nobody home, Ripley shoves Giulia into a dive from Perez!

Buzzsaw kick from IYO, big headbutt from Rhea, pumphandle…

IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley win by pinfall with Riptide from Ripley on Giulia.

Post-match, Rhea celebrates with IYO but issues an obvious challenge in the process.

That’s the show, folks.
