Swiggy delivers gold with a guard, mini-locker and bike; leaves the internet shocked: Watch viral video

Swiggy Instamart, a platform widely known for delivering groceries and daily essentials, is now making headlines for a very different reason. A video of one of its delivery executives transporting what appears to be gold, accompanied by a security guard holding a mini-locker, has taken social media by storm. The surprising visual has caught the attention of internet users, sparking widespread discussions and humorous commentary online.A video capturing the delivery agent riding a bike with a security guard seated behind, clutching a safe-like box bearing the Instamart sticker, has gone viral. The delivery agent was seen in the company’s official uniform while the guard held the locker in one hand and a baton in the other, raising eyebrows and drawing curious reactions from viewers.

Swiggy’s Humorous Acknowledgement

Reacting to the video, Swiggy Instamart reshared it on their Instagram stories. In response to one user’s caption, “What is happening?” the company replied, “Real gold delivery karne ke liye real security chahiye bro.” Another post led Swiggy to comment, “Delivering sona in every kona kona,” capitalizing on the moment with witty captions that quickly became part of the online buzz.

The viral video comes in the wake of Swiggy Instamart’s recent collaboration with Kalyan Jewellers. The partnership enables users to order gold and silver coins through the Instamart platform, with home delivery available in over 100 cities across India. Customers can order gold coins ranging from 0.5 grams to 1 gram and silver coins from 5 grams to 20 grams.

A press statement issued by Swiggy explained that the service was introduced to coincide with the Akshaya Tritiya festival, a significant occasion in India for purchasing precious metals. The company confirmed that the coins would remain available year-round and emphasized the reliability of the partnership.

Internet Users React with Sarcasm and Concern

While many were amused by the quirky setup, others questioned its effectiveness. One user joked, “Z+,” referencing high-level government security detail. Another commented, “Is this the high security?” pointing out the perceived vulnerability of the delivery setup. Comments like, “Chorri karne ke liye easy padega, app aise he video daalte jaiye,” and “Ab toh jisko na bhi pataa chaltaa use bhi pataa chal jaayegaa ki woh dekho!! Gold jaa rahaa hai,” highlighted public concern about making such deliveries too conspicuous.
The security guard’s presence, instead of reassuring viewers, seemed to invite both jokes and skepticism. Users appeared divided, with some appreciating the humor while others raised questions about the delivery model’s practicality.
Though Swiggy has not officially disclosed details about whether every gold or silver delivery will involve a security guard and locker, the video has sparked widespread attention. It serves as both a promotional tool and a statement about the company’s commitment to ensuring secure delivery of high-value items.
