Jacob Fatu (c) vs. LA Knight vs. Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre – WWE United States Championship
Becoming one of WWE’s fastest rising stars since debuting in June 2024, Jacob Fatu has taken the entire company by storm with his array of savage intensity, surprising agility and impressive athleticism.
To culminate his initial rise up the ladder, Fatu defeated LA Knight to win the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41 night one.
Following Mania, Knight looked to get his rematch for the title, while Drew McIntyre emerged as another potential challenger after picking up a win over Damian Priest in a Sin City Street Fight at The Show of Shows.
During their number one contenders match on the April 25 post-WrestleMania 41 edition of SmackDown, Priest interfered to cause a disqualification by attacking McIntyre and driving him through the announce table.
Causing an issue with Knight for getting involved in his match, Priest found himself in the middle of this US Title scene and was the victim of an attack from “The Samoan Werewolf.”
With three challengers gunning for the gold, Fatu will now defend the US Championship against Knight, Priest and McIntyre at WWE Backlash 2025, but he should be able to overcome them somehow and retain the title at the show.
