White was a popular color at the 2025 Met gala, as were suits.

But two stars in particular opted for all-white three-piece suits complete with wide-brimmed hats for this year’s celebration: Zendaya and Anna Sawai.

Zendaya first arrived to fashion’s biggest night in a custom Louis Vuitton suit that, according to stylist Law Roach, drew inspiration from Bianca Jagger’s ’70s suit.

Then there was “Shōgun” star, who also attended the Met Gala in a three-piece white suit that was similar to Zendaya’s look.

While both were elegant in their own way, Sawai added white gloves to her look, which she was seen carrying on the carpet.

Kylie Jenner made her way onto the Met Gala carpet after sisters Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian.

The reality star and entrepreneur arrived in a custom Ferragamo silver gown with black see-through corset and matching opera gloves.

The halter-dress had intricate designs on the bustier and skirt, which also featured a thigh-high slit and long detachable train.

Kim Kardashian loves to push the envelope when it comes to her Met Gala looks.

This year, the entrepreneur and reality star arrived to the big event in a tailored black leather corset top and skirt that showed off her curves. The fitted look was designed by Chrome Hearts and consisted of a long train and off-the-shoulder design, as well as a matching fedora hat.

Kardashian accessorized with a thread of diamond necklaces, earrings and various rings.

For the 2024 Met Gala, which had the “The Garden of Time” theme, Kardashian wowed with a mega-cinched waist corset and skirt that was made out of silver metallic flowers and leaves. The custom Maison Margiela Couture gown also included a heather gray cropped cardigan.

Kendall Jenner made her annual appearance at the Met Gala.

The model arrived at the blue carpet alongside friend Hailey Bieber. To pay tribute to the theme of the night, Jenner wore a dark gray tailored ensemble that features a fitted train with short train and a long-sleeve, plunging blazer with structured shoulders.

The outfit was designed by Torishéju.

She keep the rest of her look to a minimum, wearing a striking multi-tiered diamond necklace and earrings.

Shakira channeled her inner Barbie for the 2015 Met Gala.

The singer gave a bubblegum twist on this year’s theme by wearing a custom Prabal Gurung pink gown and billowing and extravagant cape to match. She also rocked black polkadot lace gloves and a statement diamond necklace.

The recent Tony nominee is among the many Met Gala attendees to wear a white ensemble to the Met Gala.

Mannequins were the major inspiration for Rosalía’s look.

The Spanish singer wore a white body-hugging look designed by Olivier Rousteing of Balmain.

“I’m his mannequin,” she said, while the French designer called her “my muse.”

The duo spoke with Teyana Taylor and Ego Nwodim about the creative look during the Vogue livestream, describing it as “made to measure.”

“I wanted to start with the mannequin, which is the base of every suit,” Rousteing said.

Lizzo celebrated “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” in black and white.

The singer arrived to the 2025 Met Gala in a gown that featured a structured bustle-style skirt. For the night, Lizzo opted for blonde hair that was perfectly curled and channeled old Hollywood.

As she posed for photos, she also showed off her long nails and elegant cigarette holder.

Among the comments on social media about her look included people saying she “slayed,” dressed to impressed and that she looked incredible.

“Lizzo looks GOOD!” one person commented, while another added, “OMFG Lizzo DEVOURED.”

Megan Thee Stallion had all eyes on her when she strutted onto the red carpet.

The rapper resembled a classic Hollywood star in her Michael Kors white fur cape and silver gown with a thigh-high slit.

As photographers snapped photos, Megan Thee Stallion posed looking over her shoulder, showing off her dramatic red power ponytail.

Social media users and Kpoene pointed out that the “Body” rapper’s updo was a recreation of Josephine Baker’s iconic ‘do in the 1940 romantic comedy “False Alarm” (also known as “The French Way.”) In the flick, Baker stars as a cabaret singer named Zazu.

Megan Thee Stallion also added a diamond hairpiece.

While speaking to Anthony and Taylor on the red carpet with Megan Thee Stallion, Michael Kors said about the look, “This is the ultimate female dandy. It’s Josephine Baker. It’s a little Eartha Kitt.”

“It’s swagger. It’s all about presenting yourself in the most fabulous way at all time. She always does it,” he added.

Quinta Brunson also said her outfit was Josephine Baker-inspired.

Mindy Kaling wore a Harbison Studio suit-inspired dress to the event, which designer and Mignonette Bridal creative director Kpoene Kofi-Bruce said “nailed the tailored look.”

Damson Idris pulled off an outfit reveal at the 2025 Met Gala.

The actor took inspiration from his upcoming movie, “F1,” arriving at the event in a Formula 1-inspired suit and bedazzled helmet.

Idris then had a team undress him, pulling the suit off to reveal a snazzy burgundy suit, which he accessorized with a slew of jewelry and matching burgundy gloves.

As he took off his helmet, the crowd cheered his name.

The English actor stars as a hotshot rookie opposite Brad Pitt’s older and more experienced driver in “F1,” set to be released this summer.

Idris actually worked alongside seven-time Formula 1 champion and 2025 co-chair of the Met Gala Lewis Hamilton on the film.

Doechii’s custom Louis Vuitton Met Gala look took “two months” to craft, she revealed on the red carpet to Taylor and Nwodim.

The Grammy-winning rapper said she “worked closely” with the brand and Williams and that they were all “heavily inspired” by Monica Miller’s book, “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.”

“We studied a little bit on this character Julius Soubise. He really stood out to me and I felt very inspired by him tonight,” Doechii explained, speaking about one of the historical figures highlighted in the book.

She then spun to show off her ensemble, which featured a double-breasted tailcoat, shorts and loafers. She also had the Louis Vuitton logo on her cheek.

“This is one of the biggest nights in fashion and for it to be so Black, I’m present. I’m here,” she said.

Kofi-Bruce praised the “Anxiety” rapper’s efforts, telling TODAY.com, “Doechii has perfectly captured dandyism with the British boarding-school shorts and tailcoat look, and I love that she crossed references and eras with the Afro and the Bermuda shorts.”

Tracee Ellis Ross is well aware of the power her famous mother, Diana Ross, wields.

After literally shutting down the 2025 Met Gala blue carpet with her elegant and elaborate gown, Ellis Ross praised her mom’s iconic look.

“My mother stops time, obviously it stops when you look at her and when she shows up somewhere like because she never comes out,” Ellis Ross told La La Anthony on the Vogue livestream. “It’s a showstopper.”

Ross made quite the statement in a white feathered look that included a feathered large-brimmed hat and an extra long cape that was embroidered with the names of her children and grandchildren.

She was accompanied by her son Evan Ross.

As for Ellis Ross, she was “working my pink.” The actor described her rosy Marc Jacobs look as “animated joy and artistry.” She also touched on her Stephen Jones hat, which was custom made for the look of the night, as well as showed off the bright pink oversized bow on the back of her outfit.

Kerry Washington channeled her “Scandal” character for the 2025 Met Gala by wearing a white look, that consisted of a tulle skirt and a white backless blazer. She topped off her ensemble with a white hat.

Fans of the long-running ABC show know the symbolism of Pope’s white hat, which is a reflection of her good conscience and moral authority.

Ahead of her 2025 Met Gala debut, Washington shared photos of her look and captioned it “Black dandies. White hats. #IYKYK #MetGala.”

Fans were so excited for the nod, with some writing, “GLADIATORS STAND UP!! She’s wearing the white hat!!”

“OLIVIAAAAAAA,” another person added, while another wrote, “Come on Ms Pope!!!!!”

The stars of “The White Lotus” Season 3 have arrived to the Met Gala! Aimee Lou Wood and Patrick Schwarzenegger walked side-by-side.

Elsewhere, Walton Goggins wore a black and white ensemble. Goggins recently shut down an interview in which he was asked about his relationship with Wood.

Rihanna is back at the Met Gala and once again making a statement.

Ahead of her 2025 Met Gala arrival, her partner A$AP Rocky confirmed that she is pregnant and expecting her third child.

Rocky, who is a co-chair of this year’s event, shared the news on the red carpet while also teasing Rihanna’s look.

“Rihanna’s outfit tonight is … I don’t know, whatever, just don’t cover her baby hump, you dig?” the rapper wad heard saying in a video posted by CBS Mornings.

The couple are already parents to sons RZA, whom they welcomed in 2022, and Riot, who was born in 2023.

Rihanna and Rocky are always couple goals at the event ascending the famous stairs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in headline-making ensembles.

Rihanna did not attend last year’s event after getting sick with the flu, E! News reported at the time. But in 2023, she and Rocky stunned the crowd with their versatile looks.

“Wow, thank God I came! Honestly, thank God you guys waited, too!” she said while she passed the TODAY team on the carpet.

Kpoene Kofi-Bruce, creative director at Mignonette Bridal, said Serena Williams nailed a 1920s look with her Met Gala outfit.

The outfit is marked by Eau de Nil color, which translates to “water of the Nile,” an homage to “1920’s craze for all things Egyptian,” Kofi-Bruce said. She also pointed out the cowl neck and marcelled hair.

“They’re all pitch-perfect nods to the Black excellence of the Harlem Renaissance,” Kofi-Bruce said.

Sabrina Carpenter is short and she knows it.

While talking to La La Anthony on the Vogue live stream, the singer jokes about her pantless look. Carpenter shared that the burgundy leotard look, complete with a tailored cropped blazer with tail, was designed by Pharrell Williams for Louis Vuitton.

The singer said that the designer and music producer told her the inspiration for the look was, “’You’re quite short, so no pants for you.’ So here we are.”

She added that her “super high shoes” are a “staple” for her.

She also told Anthony that she was looking forward to using the bathroom inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art because in previous years she hasn’t been able to use them — her outfits didn’t allow for it.

“This is my third Met, never been to the bathroom once because I’ve never been able to use it in my outfit,” she said. “So tonight might be the night.”

Walton Goggins did a few joyous spins at the Met Gala. He wore a striped skirt and white shirt paired with a long black coat. The look was designed by  Thom Browne.

Lorde graced the blue carpet wearing Thom Browne, and her top appeared to defy gravity.

The backless, sideless gray top perfectly balanced on Lorde’s chest, giving a classy, timeless look paired with her corresponding gray skirt.

The “What Was That” singer paired the outfit together with a gray jacket that she wore perched on one shoulder.

Kpoene Kofi-Bruce, creative director of Mignonette Bridal, praised the look as “brave, beautifully tailored, showy and unashamedly dramatic.”

“I think that is the spirit of dandyism,” Kofi-Bruce said.

Karlie Kloss cradled her growing baby bump and smoldered while posing for pictures on the red carpet.

The model, who is currently expecting her third child with husband Joshua Kushner, donned a black gown that included a pleated skirt and buttons. She also wore thigh-high black boots.The 32-year-old previously shared her pregnancy news on Instagram in March.

“Three’s a party,” she captioned a carousel of photos that showed her cradling her bump and one snap of her sons Elijah and Levi.

Bad Bunny has become a Met Gala staple and his 2025 look pays tribute to his roots.

After being a co-chair at last year’s event, the Puerto Rican singer oozed sophistication with his 2025 look, honoring his home country in a brown suit and a pava.

“I’m wearing Prada,” Bad Bunny told La La Anthony on the red carpet. “We did something special. I feel good. I hope people think that I’m looking good.”

A pava is a straw hat made out of the leave of the Puerto Rican hat palm. The hat is associated with jíbaros, countryside people who represent the country’s culture.

The singer was also carrying a bowling bag in addition to a slew of diamond-encrusted accessories.

Earlier in the day, the singer announced his global stadium tour for his most recent album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.”

He also described his shows as “a huge party,” “special” and filled with a lot of emotions and meaning.

Last year, the singer impressed with a custom Maison Margiela suit. The dark, pin-stripped tailored suit with red stripes down his pants, perfectly fit the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening” theme.

She’s wearing a gold Miu Miu dress in a look she said referenced designer Zelda Wynn Valdes. Yesterday, Hadid went Instagram official with her beau Bradley Cooper.

Diana Ross wowed on the red carpet in an outfit only an icon such as herself would dare to wear.

Ross’s made an all-white statement with a cape that featured a lengthy feathered train and complementing large-brimmed hat. The cape was embroidered with the names of all her children and grandchildren. She also wore a slinky silver gown underneath.

She came with her son Evan Ross as a date.

It was one of many capes that have been an early trend of the fashion event.

Coco Jones, Maya Hawke, Teyana Taylor and more are wearing capes at the 2025 Met Gala, sporting a trend that embodies the theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

We have our first dramatic reveal of the night as Colman Domingo made a slight wardrobe change after arriving to the Met Gala carpet.

The Oscar-nominated actor removed his extravagant blue cape to pose for pictures in a look that expertly embodied the theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

For his custom Valentino look, Domingo mixed patterns, pairing his striped black and silver suit jacket with a polka dot scarf and matching oversized boutonnière flower. He also wore gray cuffed slacks and dress shoes. He posed for pictures with husband Raúl Domingo, who wore an all-violet ensemble.

Speaking about his outfit, Domingo told reporters, “I feel like a king. What I wore originally was sort of like a nod not only to crossing the seas — the ocean, the color of the ocean in many ways — (and) gold. We’re kings. The Moors, their culture, as well. But also, it was my mother’s favorite color, which is blue. And so I wanted to tell a story tonight.”

Kpoene Kofi-Bruce, designer and creative director of Mignonette Bridal, gushes about Domingo’s interpretation of theme to TODAY.com.

“Colman is defining Dandy — the pattern clashing, the metallics, the jewelry and giant floral boutonnière. It’s all so over the top and yet proudly masculine,” Kofi-Bruce explained. “Dandyism is all about being so masculine that you aren’t afraid to embrace decoration and femininity. I love it.”

Whoopi Goldberg looked dapper in a top hat, suit and fitted white coat. Her outfit was designed by Thom Browne.

When it comes to fashion — and specifically the Met Gala — Zendaya can do no wrong.

The actor and fashionista perfectly nailed the 2025 theme for fashion’s biggest night. Thanks to the help of her stylist, friend and longtime collaborator Law Roach, the “Challengers” star was spotted leaving her hotel ahead of her arrival at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

In the video captured by TODAY, Zendaya is seen in a tailored, all-white suit, with a blazer cinched at the waist. She is seen donning a large flowy hat.

This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” honors Black dandyism. The star appeared to channel style icon Bianca Jagger in her three-piece suit.

Roach previously told E! News that they would both be attending the Met Gala but they would be walking separately.

“We are going to be on the Met Gala steps,” he said. “We’re doing our own thing this year which is exciting.”

Last year, Zendaya turned heads with not one, but two looks for the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme.

Zendaya was also a co-chair for the 2024 Met Gala, alongside Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth.

Following the arrival of fellow co-chairs Colman Domingo and Lewis Hamilton with Anna Wintour, Pharrell Williams made his way onto the carpet.

The singer, producer and fashion designer’s outfit seemed straightforward to the naked eye, but it had intricate detailing up close. Williams revealed that his silver suit jacket was crafted using 15,000 pearls. He told The Hollywood Reporter that it took 400 hours to sew the pinstripe pearl jacket.

He also spoke with Variety and said he was inspired by “the Black men of the working class” for his look.

“Because they do the hard work. But then when it’s time to get fresh, they get dandy and superfine. I’m inspired by the working class because that’s where I come from,” he added.

He completed the look with a black tie, sunglasses and black flared pants.

Williams attended the event with his wife, Helen Lasichanh, who opted for a black blazer, bodysuit and Louis Vuitton tights. She carried a Louis Vuitton handbag, too. The look appeared to be a nod to her husband, whom Louis Vuitton named as its Men’s Creative Director in 2024.

Actor Sydney Sweeney hit the blue carpet at the 2025 Met Gala in a stunning black sparkly gown with her hair slicked back.

AK Brown, a fashion editor, said she thought Sweeney’s look was giving “Hollywood glam.”

“Do I feel like it’s on theme, no, (but) I think that’s a beautiful dress,” Brown said. “I do love her hair.”

The 2025 Met Gala was a feast for the eyes and ears.

As the blue carpet kicked off, a gospel choir graciously entertained the crowd as they performed “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Wearing black tuxedos, the singers belted out the classic tune in front of Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and co-chairs Lewis Hamilton and Colman Domingo.

The trio arrived at the 2025 Met Gala and posed for photos together before making their way into the event.

Styled by Wayman and Micah, the “Sing Sing” star looked regal in Valentino and Boucheron jewelry.

Hamilton, a seven-time Formula 1 champion, looked equally sophisticated in an all-white custom Louis Vuitton ensemble. The athlete accessorized with an ascot cap with detailed pin, a bedazzled diamond and pearl brooch and multiple rings.

Every year a new theme is chosen for the Met Gala and with that, the famous steps at the Metropolitan Museum of Art are adorned as well.

The theme this year is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” an ode to the Black dandy. According to Vogue, this is the first time since 2003 that the Met Gala will feature predominantly menswear.

To accompany the theme, artist Cy Gavin led the creative direction for the carpet design. This year’s carpet is blue with daffodil designs scattered.

According to Vogue, the white-and-yellow blooms are also known as a narcissus flower. The artist says he became fascinated with the flower that was growing outside his upstate New York studio.

The daffodil symbolizes the arrival of the new season, and felt that it was perfect for the event as it kicked off the first Monday in May. He was also intrigued by the flower’s scientific name, stemming from the Greek myth of Narcissus.

He honed in on the interpretation of the tragedy, per the magazine, when Narcissus sees his reflection for the first time in the pool of water.

“I became interested in that moment of self-recognition and appreciation,” he said. “It’s very easy to not see yourself clearly because of all the selves that other people tell us we are—and I was struck by the poignancy of that being also a sort of punishment.”

Along the steps are stunning floral arrangements, serving as a barricade, also filled with daffodils.

The interior is only more visually stunning as it coordinates with the carpet in similar blue and floral patterns.

Emma Chamberlain has made her way to the Met Gala in an edgy menswear-inspired look.The internet sensation, who is again serving as Vogue’s special correspondent for the event, sported a bleached blond pixie cut to complement her sultry striped suit dress. The gown featured multiple cut outs and a slit.

She finished the outfit with a pair of mesh gloves and glasses.

Teyana Taylor knows how to make an entrance.

The singer, actor and choreographer was one of the first celebrities to arrive to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday given that she is co-hosting Vogue’s livestream with actor and television personality La La Anthony and “Saturday Night Live” star Ego Nwodim.

Taylor set the tone for the night as she glided onto The Met steps in a red and black look that honored Black dandyism. The singer wore a three-piece striped black suit that she helped design in collaboration with Ruth E. Carter and paired it with a dramatic red cape and chains. She completed the look with a feathered hat, gloves, cane and Marc Jacobs platformed heels, all in cherry red.

Analyzing the look for TODAY,com, Kpoene Kofi-Bruce, designer and creative director of Mignonette Bridal, explained, “Taylor’s outfit is not just an homage to a very specific reference in Black culture — the pimp — but the crown-topped cane, sharp-shouldered cape, chains, and even the oversized tailoring also harken back to 40’s-era zoot suits, which were a way for Black and Latino men especially to embrace postwar suiting while putting their own spin on it.”

Kofi-Bruce added, “Zoot wearers (and yes, their sartorial heirs, pimps) were not afraid to embrace flamboyant accessories, bright colors, even flowers, in their pursuit of looks which demanded respect and the right to take up space.”

Fashion studies scholar Kimberly Jenkins said tghe suit appeared to be referencing the Harlem Renaissance.

TODAY’s Al Roker received a sweet “surprise” while reporting for duty at the Met Gala.

The weatherman joked about running into his wife Deborah Roberts as they both attended fashion’s biggest night for their respective jobs.

In a video posted to TODAY’s Instagram, the couple exchanges compliments on their red carpet looks, before Deborah jokingly tells Al, “I didn’t know you were coming.”

Al replies that he also wasn’t aware that his spouse was going to be there.

The two then showed off their matching top hats, as they went their respective ways before the main event kicked off!

Henry Golding and Ashley Graham’s Met Gala preps both include an important step: face masks!

The model uploaded a photo to her Instagram story May 5 of her eating breakfast at The Mark Hotel in New York City while wearing a gold face mask.”It’s MET Monday!!!!” she cheered in the caption.

A couple hours later, Henry Golding also gave fans a glimpse of him getting glammed up for the event with a sheet mask on his face. He shared the picture on his Instagram story.

The “Another Simple Favor” star made an intense face in the snap while celebrity groomer and men’s hair stylist Melissa DeZarate stood behind him and tousled his hair.

Charli XCX has something to take the edge off before attending the 2025 Met Gala.

The singer shared a photo on her Instagram story of what appears to be gifts she received while staying at The Mark Hotel in New York. The snap shows a pack of Parliament cigarettes wrapped in a black-and-white bow with the hotel’s name on them. There’s also a lighter with The Mark branding.

Charli is expected to attend fashion’s biggest night, but has yet to tease what her outfit will look like.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are getting ready for their date night at the 2025 Met Gala.

Before making their way to the red carpet, Biles shared some behind-the-scenes photos of the pair preparing for their entrance.

The gold medalist uploaded a picture to her Instagram story that showed multiple hair products, makeup and beauty tools spread out on a bed.

“Prep for MET MONDAY,” she captioned the snap on May 4.

She then shared a selfie of her getting a facial.

The next morning, she posted a sweet photo of Owens planting a kiss on her cheek.

Al Roker is making his Met Gala debut! He’s all suited up to hit the carpet for TODAY.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who was named honorary chair of this year’s Met Gala, said Monday on X that he is pulling out of his expected appearance at the gala due to a knee injury.

He suffered an MCL sprain last Wednesday in the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, ESPN reported.

Colman Domingo, Academy Award-nominated actor and one of this year’s Met Gala co-chairs, started sharing how he’s getting ready for the big night on his Instagram story.

“What a weekend. Now for the main event,” he captioned a mirror selfie of him in a coordinating yellow outfit on Monday morning.

The “Sing Sing” star also shared clips of his team, including a video of him asking his makeup artist how she feels about it being “Met Gala day.” The video showed her taking a deep breath before she and Domingo started laughing out loud.

Domingo also reposted a clip from Vogue in which he talks about the 2025 Met Gala.

Every year, a group of stars are selected to be the co-chairs alongside Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

This year, the co-chairs are all men, known for their impeccable style and successful careers.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art previously announced that the theme for the 2025 Met Gala will be “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

The theme and the dress code, “Tailored For You,” honor the Black dandy, which means fans can expect many celebrities to arrive wearing menswear on the red carpet.

“Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” was inspired by Barnard professor and author Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity,” the museum shared.

“Dandyism can seem frivolous, but it often poses a challenge to or a transcendence of social and cultural hierarchies,” Miller said in a press release. “It asks questions about identity, representation, and mobility in relation to race, class, gender, sexuality, and power.”

The corresponding spring exhibition at The Met — which opens May 10 and concludes Oct. 26 — will also pay tribute to the influential fashion icon of the Black dandy. There will be 12 special sections in the museum that represent the theme: Ownership, Presence, Distinction, Disguise, Freedom, Champion, Respectability, Jook, Heritage, Beauty, Cool, and Cosmopolitanism.

The red carpet for fashion’s biggest night will open at 4:30 p.m. EST as the first arrivals make their way to New York’s famous Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Fashion fans can watch the official Met Gala livestream of the red carpet on all of Vogue’s digital platforms, including its website and YouTube. The livestream will begin at 6 p.m. EST.

Vogue has previously announced that singer, actor and choreographer Teyana Taylor, actor and television personality La La Anthony and “Saturday Night Live” star Ego Nwodim will host the livestream, where they’ll share all the details about the A-listers’ glamorous outfits.

Internet star Emma Chamberlain will also be on hand as the fashion magazine’s special correspondent.
