“I do not assume Oprah was attempting to out me, however I stated to Robin beforehand: ‘I am not ready. I am so afraid of going on the market and speaking to Oprah. I am not ready to debate that I am homosexual on nationwide tv, I am not prepared,'” Nathan defined on Sunday Sitdown. “And [Robin] stated: ‘Oh, it is alright, don’t fret about it, we do not have to speak about it, we cannot discuss it.'”
He then recalled how Robin “type of swoops in and diverts Oprah and goes off on a tangent and protects [him] as a result of he was a saint.”
“I simply wasn’t prepared to do this, to make this complete factor…the general public aspect of it, the movie star aspect,” Nathan added of publicly popping out. “‘Oh, now you are a public determine, and it’s important to make some type of public assertion about it.’ I used to be terrified. I wasn’t prepared to do this.”
