PlayStation Plus just got more expensive in Canada

Sony has raised the price of PlayStation Plus in Canada.

On social media, X (Twitter) user @GTM618 shared an email he received from Sony notifying him of the price hike, and MobileSyrup‘s Dean Daley also got a similar message.

Here are the new prices vs. the previous prices:

  • Essential — $13.99/month, $34.99/three months, $109.99/year (previously $11.99/month, $29.99/three months or $94.99/year)
  • Extra — $20.99/month, $55.99/three months, $189.99/year (previously $17.99/month, $49.99/three months or $154.99/year)
  • Premium — $24.99/month, $68.99/three months, $224.99/year (previously $21.99/month, $59.99/three months or $189.99/year)

The updated prices are now listed on the official PlayStation Plus page, although existing subscribers will be charged their current rates on their next payment date on or after June 24, 2025. “This price adjustment will enable us to continue to bringing high-quality games and benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service,” says Sony in the email sent to customers.

This comes after Sony raised the price of the PS5 in several markets, including Europe and Australia, although Canada wasn’t affected in that.
