North Melbourne vs Carlton scoreboard
Paul Curtis has a second for North
It’s chaos out there at the moment, with George Wardlaw leading the way with his frenzied attack on the footy. It was ugly as the ball was forced forward, but it turned pretty when Curtis flew to take a strong contested mark.
The finish was simple for the in-form Curtis. A lot to like for the Roos so far.
Corey Durdin steals and goals for Carlton
Forward pressure tells for the Blues as Griffin Logue’s rushed handball in the goalsquare spills straight to Durdin, who snaps truly.
Good tackle from Curnow to force the turnover too. Both teams bringing the heat early.
Charlie Curnow answers for Carlton!
A strong mark on the lead, a precise drop punt from the pocket and a big ol’ rev up to the crowd. Charlie Curnow is here to play today.
That’s the second time Curnow has gotten away from the North defence on the lead, and Charlie can smell a big afternoon here.
Paul Curtis with an incredible finish to open the scoring!
Didn’t give him a whole lot of chance from out there, with Paul Curtis and marking on the juggle a couple of metres inside the boundary line almost at the 50m arc.
Curtis ran around to cut down the angle a little and sliced through a glorious drop punt. Brilliant start for North Melbourne.
The Roos and Blues get things underway
Game on at Docklands, with the first behind of the match coming via a rushed shot on goal from Charlie Curnow.
Good crowd in this afternoon for what in prospect could be an entertaining game.
A few more smiles around Carlton this week

A flogging of West Coast last week was just the tonic for Carlton, who badly needed a win to get off the mark in 2025. It counts for little if the Blues don’t back up this week though and the wolves will be straight back at the door if they can’t get past North Melbourne here.
North is a dangerous, dangerous team this year. There are defensive issues, but up until last week Carlton had struggled to score heavily. The Roos will sniff an opportunity and rightly so.
North Melbourne-Carlton final lineups are in

No late changes for either side. Zane Duursma is North’s sub and Cooper Lord is wearing the vest again for the Blues.
George Wardlaw is back in action for the Roos today, which is exciting for anyone who likes watching footy but particularly good news for North fans. I bet he makes his presence felt early upon return.
Players raise their game for Good Friday Appeal

Some star players and some little heroes hit the purple carpet at Docklands Stadium today for what is apparently known as the Good Friday SuperClash.

North Melbourne and Carlton have really made this occasion their own, and they do it well.

Welcome to Good Friday footy

Good afternoon footy friends, and welcome back to our live blog coverage of the 2025 AFL season. We’ve got two Good Friday games coming at you today, kicking off with the now-traditional North Melbourne-Carlton clash at Docklands before we head over to Perth for West Coast-Essendon.
The first game doubles as an opportunity for the Good Friday Appeal to raise valuable money for the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, which does make it that little bit more special.
