A teenager has been flown to hospital with serious leg and pelvic injuries following a multi-vehicle crash today on the M1 Pacific Motorway north of Sydney.
He was cut from the wreckage of one of three vehicles involved in the pile-up on the Hawkesbury River Bridge at Mooney Mooney about 7.15am.
Light vehicles travelling south were diverted off the motorway at Mount White onto the Pacific Highway, while heavy vehicles were parked on site.
The injured teenager will be treated at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.
One of three southbound lanes remains closed, while all northbound lanes have reopened.
Motorists are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time in both directions.
Three ambulances and the NSW Ambulance emergency chopper were called to the crash site at 7.15am.
