Minka Kelly Stunned With Dress Choice on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Generate Key Takeaways

Minka Kelly made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” this Tuesday to discuss her upcoming Netflix show, “Ransom Canyon.”

Kelly, 44, rose to prominence because of her role as Lyla Garrity on “Friday Night Lights.” She held that role from 2006-2009, appearing in a grand total of 52 episodes. That led to her starring in a few notable films, including “The Roommate” and “Searching for Sonny.”

Fans of Kelly will get to see her back in the spotlight later this week when Netflix releases “Ransom Canyon,” a romantic western series that was shot in Albuquerque.

While on Kimmel’s late-night show this week, Kelly talked about returning to her hometown of Albuquerque for a project. She moved there prior to her junior year of high school.

“It was pretty surreal to be honest,” Kelly said. “I’ve been back a couple of times throughout the years, and it was a little emotional for me. To think I’m going back to spend six months was a little [different]. I lived in Santa Fe, which was beautiful. And then it just turned out that Albuquerque wasn’t really the boogeyman I thought it would be. It was actually really beautiful and I got to see it with my grown-up eyes.”

Kelly’s interview with Kimmel was worthy of an applause, make no mistake about it. That being said, it was her elegant outfit that stole the show.

Kelly wore a burnt orange dress that received plenty of compliments from her fans.

“Always amazing,” one person commented on Instagram. “Dress is stunning.”

“Gorgeous,” another person wrote.

“Beautiful dress and great smile,” a third fan said.

It’s safe to say Kelly remains a fan favorite at this stage in her career.

Netflix will release “Ransom Canyon” on April 17. It’s a 10-episode series that viewers will be allowed to binge as early as this weekend.
