Liver King Breaks Silence and Shares Shocking Update After Netflix Documentary

The Liver King’s documentary premiered on Netflix earlier this week, and the king himself has broken his social media silence following the release.

Brian Johnson, 48, is better known by his Liver King alias. He gained nearly 3 million Instagram followers by sharing his workouts, daily meals, and personal life—but fell under public scrutiny after falsely claiming he built his physique naturally.

His steroid use came to light in late 2022, when leaked emails showed he was spending over $11,000 a month on massive doses of Omnitrope, a pharmacy-grade HGH, along with other substances.

After going nearly radio silent on social media, many patiently awaited the release of Untold: The Liver King on Netflix.

“As a family, we said yes to making a movie. Most of it seems to be true. Liver still is king, we eat nose to tail, everyday,” he said in his most recent Instagram reel, posted yesterday.

In the epilogue of his documentary, Johnson shared that he no longer takes performance-enhancing drugs. He also admitted to not following a strict carnivore diet, now implementing fruits and vegetables into his diet.

“Vegetables and testicles, I can have all of it. I was so convinced, all the carnivore stuff, that’s what you need to really kick ass in life. I’m convinced now that I was starving myself,” he said.

He adds, “I guess I want the world to know I was wrong. I got all of it wrong… [An] extreme approach to anything probably ain’t f—ing working out.”

But, he still lives by the ancestral tenets. “Liver king—the name, it never mattered. The message is what matters,” he said in the reel.

Many of his social media posts have received negative comments in recent years, but his latest one, timing up with the release of the documentary, has been met with an outpouring of support and positive feedback.

“It takes a lot of balls to be that open in the documentary. New found respect for you and your family,” one Instagram user commented.

“Proud of you man. Real men own up to their mistakes and move forward. Keep striving for greatness. Praying for you,” another user wrote.
