With just hours to go until the premiere of Another Simple Favor on Prime Video, excitement is building among fans. The film sees Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick return to their roles, and it also features Oscar-winner Allison Janney, who plays the mysterious Aunt Linda. Known for her captivating performances, Janney added an intriguing layer of unpredictability to this dark comedy thriller. From the very first page, she knew she had to be part of this highly anticipated sequel.

“When I watched A Simple Favor for the first time, I had just worked with Paul on Spy. And of course, I loved Bridesmaids, Freaks and Geeks, and everything he does. But this was unexpected. It was such a departure for him because it’s such a thriller. And there’s murder, there’s intrigue, there’s glamour, there’s sexiness. It was a wild ride, and I loved it. So when I found out that Paul was doing Another Simple Favor and that he wanted me to be part of it and that they were filming in Rome and in Capri, I was like, sign me up. I couldn’t wait to be a part of it,” said Janney. “Then he sent me the script, and I read the part of Linda, and she’s an interesting woman to play. She has a lot of different sides to her, and not all of them are good ones.”
Producer Laura Allen Fischer recalled just how determined the team was to get Janney on board. She revealed, “We only ever had sights on Allison, and we begged and stole her from other shows until we got her,” says Fischer. “She brings such humanity, but also such duplicity because she’s so talented as an actor that you are immediately endeared by her, but you also totally buy that she’s got something up her sleeve.”
Directed by Paul Feig and produced by Laura Allen Fischer, Another Simple Favor is written by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis, with the characters written by Darcey Bell. It brings the fan-favourite characters of Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) back, as they reunite in the picturesque setting of Capri, Italy. The sequel promises a blend of mystery, glamour, and unexpected twists with the addition of new characters like Aunt Linda (Allison Janney) and Dante Versano (Michele Morrone). Another Simple Favor will premiere exclusively on Prime Video, starting May 1, in English with dubs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
