Just days after helping the Stars wrap up a 106-point regular season, Jamie Benn and his wife, Jessica, shared their biggest victory yet the arrival of their baby boy, Knox Jay, born April 3. The couple gave fans a glimpse into their growing family on Instagram, posting intimate moments from the hospital to their cozy home, including sweet snapshots of the new dad catching a nap beside his newborn.
Benn, known for his gritty, physical play on the ice, has seamlessly shifted gears into full-time “dad mode,” sharing cuddle sessions and quiet moments that show a different side of the battle-hardened forward. Even the family cat has warmed up to the newest addition, with baby Knox already bonding with his furry sibling.

This season, Benn tallied 49 points over 80 games before an upper-body injury briefly took him out of the lineup and ended his impressive 371-game ironman streak. Despite the setback, the Stars clinched the second seed in the Central Division and are in the thick of a heated first-round playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche. Benn played 18 shifts in Game 1, which ended in a tough 5-1 loss at home.
As the Stars regroup for Game 2, Benn is juggling playoff intensity with diaper duty, a balance few NHL stars have mastered quite like him. With over 1,190 games under his belt, a 2015 Art Ross Trophy, and a 2014 Olympic gold medal, Benn’s legacy is already etched in hockey history.
