Down 2-0 in the series, New York Islanders prospect Cal Ritchie scored twice to help the Oshawa Generals get back in their second-round series against the Brantford Bulldogs.
Ritchie opened Game 3’s scoring by tipping in a Luca Marrelli shot on the power play:
This was his third goal and 11th point of the playoffs.
Just 15 seconds into the third period, he struck again, this time while shorthanded.
A miscommunication between goaltender David Egorov and defenseman David Jiricek left the puck loose near the net, and Ritchie made no mistake:
This was his fourth goal and 12th point of the playoffs.
Ritchie was later named the game’s third star as Oshawa defeated Brantford 7-2.
Ritchie and the Generals will now look to tie the series at 2-2 on Thursday night.
