India’s New Russia-Made Warship Amid Tensions With Pakistan; NS Tamal Boost For Navy
More trouble for Pakistan as India prepares to induct its second Russian-built stealth frigate, INS Tamal, after the successful induction of its sister ship INS Tushil last year. This 3,900-tonne multi-role warship, designed for full-spectrum naval warfare across air, surface, underwater, and electromagnetic domains, will be handed over to the Indian Navy at Kaliningrad following crucial weapons trials expected to take around a month.Armed with BrahMos cruise missiles, extended-range Shtil SAMs, and anti-submarine torpedoes, the stealth frigate is also capable of carrying Kamov-28/31 helicopters, making it a formidable force multiplier. Part of a Rs 21,000 crore deal signed in 2016, the four upgraded Krivak-III class frigates are a joint production effort—two imported and two (Triput and Tavasya) being built at Goa Shipyard under technology transfer.#india #indiannavy #instamal #pakistan #brahmos #russia #pmmodi #indiapakistanwar
