MMA fighters are rarely shy about expressing their opinions. From press conferences to social media, the verbal sparring can be just as entertaining as the fights themselves. These confrontations have given fans memorable moments throughout UFC history. They have seen water bottles thrown between the Diaz brothers and Conor McGregor crews. They have witnessed DC and Jon Jones nearly tear apart the face off set. And who could forget Khabib jumping the cage after beating McGregor?
The latest chapter in UFC‘s drama book features an unlikely pair squaring off outside the octagon. Former two-division champion Henry Cejudo and welterweight contender Colby Covington recently found themselves in a heated verbal exchange at a celebrity poker tour. What started as a chance encounter quickly escalated into a full-blown war of words, with neither fighter backing down.

Henry Cejudo And Colby Covington Argue Back And Forth
Tensions flared when Henry Cejudo and Colby Covington crossed paths at a crowded venue this week. The atmosphere shifted from casual to confrontational in seconds. Covington, known for his trash-talking persona ‘Chaos,’ apparently initiated the verbal jabs. Colby taunted Cejudo, saying he had no belts now and compared him to Bilbo Baggins from the Lord of the Rings series. The exchange heated up when Cejudo played what many are calling his “resume card.” The former flyweight and bantamweight champion reminded Covington of his unique accomplishments.
“You can’t win sh*t. I am two time, not once, twice motherf****r. Double champ, olympic champ. You ain’t got sh*t.“
It was a classic ‘Triple C’ moment, referencing his Olympic wrestling gold medal and championship runs in two different UFC weight classes. Cejudo is one of only four fighters in UFC history to hold titles in multiple divisions simultaneously. He stands alone as the only Olympic gold medalist to achieve this feat!
The former interim welterweight champion then pointed to the obvious size difference between them. Covington competes at 170 pounds while Cejudo fought at 125 and 135 pounds during his UFC career. In the fight game, those weight differences are massive.
Despite the size disadvantage, Cejudo didn’t seem fazed by Covington’s remarks. The verbal jousting continued for several minutes. How it ended is unknown. No punches were thrown, but the intensity of their face-off left many wondering if these two might actually want to settle things in the cage someday. Of course, such a matchup would never happen given the weight difference.
