Just days after the 2025 NFL Draft, it seems that the Cleveland Browns are still looking to improve the roster. Cleveland is looking to improve its wide receiver room and have brought in a former Pro Bowl wide-out for a visit.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, the Browns hosted former Pro Bowl wide receiver Diontae Johnson. Johnson has been bouncing around from teams of late, but could provide the Browns with some extra depth in the wide receiver room.
Whether the Browns sign Johnson or not remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Cleveland wants to upgrade. Johnson has seemed to be a headache for teams over the past few seasons, but his talent is undeniable.

Johnson made the Pro Bowl team in 2021 while with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The veteran wide receiver posted 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns for the Steelers during that season.

After the Steelers selected Johnson in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft, he quickly made his presence felt within the team. Johnson moved up the depth chart, eventually becoming the No. 1 for Pittsburgh.
However, his lack of discipline has caused him nothing but issues over the years. The Steelers ended up trading Johnson to the Carolina Panthers in 2024, but he only lasted half a season with the team.
Carolina sent him to the Baltimore Ravens, but Johnson could fit in within the system. Johnson made his way to the Houston Texans but was waived shortly after joining.

It now seems like he is looking for the next opportunity, and the Browns could be an interesting fit. If Cleveland were to sign him, it would give them another veteran wide-out to work with, but there have been concerns in recent years from the player.
