With an edition of El Clasico that could decide the title fight and key matches in battles for European qualification all over the continent, a huge weekend of football is upon us.
23:00 CET – All but one of the evening’s nine Ligue 1 matches have ended with Monaco securing a vital victory over Lyon (2-0) to qualify for the Champions League and PSG thumping relegated Montpellier 4-1.
Elsewhere, Lille and Strasbourg suffered shock defeats while St. Etienne live to fight another day after beating Reims.

22:55 CET – Four first-half goals from Alexander Sorloth were plenty for Atletico Madrid this evening, they have thrashed Real Sociedad 4-0 to create a nine-point gap between themselves and fourth-placed Athletic Club in LaLiga.

22:41 CET – In the late game in Serie A, Empoli have edged 10-man Parma 2-1 to gain an extremely valuable three points in their effort to avoid relegation.
They are now out of the bottom three, although they could fall back into the mix by the end of the round.

22:25 CET – Hamburg have secured promotion back to the Bundesliga after seven seasons away, thanks to their 6-1 thumping of Ulm in front of a packed-out Volksparkstadion.

21:00 CET – Benfica have come back to earn a 1-1 draw against bitter Lisbon rivals Sporting, leaving the title open in Portugal heading into the final round.
The two sides are level on points with just one to play, and both have winnable matches ahead of them. If they both win next weekend, Sporting will be champions for the second season in a row due to their better head-to-head record.

20:31 CET – In the final Premier League clash of the day, Aston Villa have scored a massive 1-0 win over Bournemouth away despite losing a man to a red card in the second half.
The result sees Villa go level on points with Newcastle and Chelsea and leapfrog Nottingham Forest up to sixth. That could prove huge in the race for Europe.

20:26 CET – German champions Bayern Munich have beaten Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Michael Olise. The loss sees Gladbach out of the race for Europe now, entirely.

Over in Turkey, Galatasaray have beaten Trabzonspor 2-0 to close in on the Super Lig title. Gala lead Fenerbahce by eight points with just three rounds to go.
19:58 CET – Lazio have scored a last-gasp goal to draw 1-1 with 10-man Juventus and rescue a vital point in the race for the Champions League in Serie A.
The result sees the Old Lady and Lazio remain in 4th/5th with Roma lurking one point back with a game in hand.
