Calgary prospect Etienne Morin made his presence felt in the QMJHL Championships once again, scoring a power play goal, as well as notching a power play assist in Game Three as the Moncton Wildcats beat the Rimouski Oceanic 6-4 on Wednesday evening.
As a result, Morin now leads all players in power play assists in the QMJHL Playoffs with 10. His 11 power play points only trail that of Rimouski’s Jonathan Fauchon.
The 20-year-old prospect has so far scored 20 points in 16 games of the playoffs, ranking third. His 18 total assists in the post-season are the second-highest after teammate and top prospect Caleb Desnoyers’ 21.
With a 3-0 lead, Moncton has an opportunity to sweep the series and win the QMJHL crown on Thursday with puck drop at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT.
