NBA Analysts Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith had quite a night going at each other in the latest ‘Inside the NBA’ episode. The duo are not only top colleagues but great friends beyond the broadcast life as well. Barkley and Smith have earned a name for themselves in the world of basketball for their in depth analysis and insider information of the game.

In a recent tapping, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith were discussing their NCAA career. The conversation which started sweetly soon turned into banter as Smith first fired the shots. The 62-year-old asked his colleague, “Did you ever win a game in the NCAA?” Kenny Smith was taking a shot at Barkley’s college career as his Auburn University fell short of making it at the top.

However, Barkley, despite not having fine support from the team, individually did great. During his time at the Tigers, he averaged 14.1 Points, and 9.6 Rebounds. Charles Barkley was not only an elite scorer and rebounder machine but also a fine leader. He led his side to their first NCAA Appearance in 1984.

Barkley, who was visibly unshaken by the potshots of Kenny Smith, turned up the heat with his counter question on the show. Charles Barkley asked his colleague if he ever made it to the final Four. This was a proper burner response by the Auburn legend. Smith, despite having the best of the teams at North Carolina Tar Heels, failed to win an NCAA Championship.

Kenny Smith also had a bright NCAA college career. Charles Barkley rubbed the wounds of Smith, asking him if he played with Michael Jordan. Kenny Smith was indeed a teammate of the legendary Michael Jordan at the North Carolina Tar Heels in 1983.

What Charles Barkley was pointing out is the stark career trajectory that took place after Michael Jordan joined the NBA. Jordan turned out to be a force to reckon with, but Kenny Smith couldn’t achieve what his teammate did. Despite all of it, Smith still has one of the strongest voices in the NBA landscape and has made an illustrious career in the broadcast field.

Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley kept going at each other as Smith came up with another counter. The former Denver Nuggets player suggested that at least he won the College player of the year. The banter between the duo kept on going, which is not new as the two colleagues are known to erk each other.
