Consensus Mock Draft: Where we stand after 2025 NBA Lottery

Consensus Mock Draft: Where we stand after 2025 NBA Lottery Rehmat Boutique

Duke could deliver a trio of lottery picks with (from left) Cooper Flagg, Khaman Maluach and Kon Knueppel.

Complete 2025 NBA Draft order

Some notes in our initial look at the mock drafts from around the web before the 2025 NBA Draft presented by State Farm, where the Dallas Mavericks will be on the clock with the No. 1 pick.

The Consensus Mock Draft is a compilation of the best mock drafts around the web. We bring them together to provide a solid estimate of how the Draft could play out (Last update: May 14, 8:44 a.m. ET).

  • There’s consensus at the top. Duke forward Cooper Flagg and Rutgers guard Dylan Harper open our aggregate analysis as a unanimous 1-2 punch.
  • Baylor product VJ Edgecombe, who made an impression at the 2024 Olympics, edges out Harper’s Rutgers teammate Ace Bailey on points at No. 3, and the decision seems to hinge on that pair — either Edgecombe or Bailey claims 8 of 10 No. 3 slots and all 10 at No. 4.
  • The No. 3 and No. 4 chokehold is broken up by Texas guard Tre Johnson and Duke’s Kon Knueppel, each of whom has some variance in the profile. Johnson is pegged as low as 8th, while Knueppel is 10th on one draft board.
  • Kneuppel’s pick-and-roll partner Khaman Maluach could rise to 6th or fall to 14th, the widest range in this initial look.
  • Watch the order of point guards coming off the board, with Jeremiah Fears (Oklahoma), Kasparas Jakucionis (Illinois) and Egor Demin (BYU) jockeying for lottery position.
  • In the frontcourt, bigs Derik Queen (Maryland) and Collin Murray-Boyles (South Carolina) present an interesting offense-or defense-first question for teams to answer.
  • There’s yet another French player getting lottery looks: Ratiopharm Ulm forward Noa Essengue currently claims No. 13, with Nolan Traore potentially joining him as a riser from Le République.
  • Michigan junior Danny Wolf sneaks onto the board with a single vote for No. 14. Nique Clifford (Colorado State) and Liam McNeeley (Connecticut) are each tabbed 13th once, while St. Joe’s Rasheer Fleming earns a lone look at 10th.
  • Harper and fringe-lottery projection Jase Richardson, who just missed our consensus cut, are each set to become second-generation ballers: They are the progeny of former Bulls and Lakers champion Ron Harper and Slam Dunk winner Jason Richardson, respectively.
  • Evaluations appear consistent, as 10 players appear in the lottery on all 10 mocks we surveyed: Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, VJ Edgecombe, Ace Bailey, Jeremiah Fears, Tre Johnson, Khaman Maluach, Kon Knueppel, Derik Queen and Kasparas Jakucionis. Collin Murray-Boyles just misses with eight.

Most common (above): Pick where the player is most commonly projected, with the number of mock drafts in parentheses. For example, Cooper Flagg is projected to go first in 10 of 10 updated mock drafts listed below.

Top 14 (below): To calculate the consensus, we award 14 points for every mock draft in which the player went first overall, 13 for second, continuing to one point for the final lottery pick. The player with the highest point total represents the top overall selection, which is as follows:

1. Cooper Flagg | Dallas Mavericks

Duke | Position: F | Height: 6-9
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 1 (10)

An elite two-way prospect who could prove to be not only a franchise centerpiece but a long-term face of the league.

2. Dylan Harper | San Antonio Spurs

Rutgers | Position: G | Height: 6-6
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 2 (10)

Visionary combo guard wields precise footwork and sharp offensive instincts with size in the backcourt.

3. VJ Edgecombe | Philadelphia 76ers

Baylor | Position: G-F | Height: 6-5
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 5 (7)

Rising international star for the Bahamas is an athletic marvel whose upside is only limited by his development.

4. Ace Bailey | Charlotte Hornets

Rutgers | Position: F | Height: 6-10
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 4 (5)

Knockdown shooter needs to avoid narrowing options to his own. Adding the strength to bang could compensate for cold spells.

5. Tre Johnson | Utah Jazz

Texas | Position: G | Height: 6-6
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 6 (4)

A clutch performer whose scoring punch is unquestioned, his upside banks on belief in vision and defense.

6. Kon Knueppel | Washington Wizards

Duke | Position: F | Height: 6-7
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 7 (3)

Shooters gonna shoot, and it helps when they’re also making high-level decisions in the pick-and-roll.

7. Jeremiah Fears | New Orleans Pelicans

Oklahoma | Position: G | Height: 6-4
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 8 (4)

A youngster who sports handles and quicks for days. His future as an offensive fulcrum or solid fit puzzle piece seems in the eye of the beholder.

8. Khaman Maluach | Brooklyn Nets

Duke | Position: C | Height: 7-2
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 7, 8, 9 (2)

Long, mobile and already a defensive deterrent. If the offense elevates beyond rim-rolling, opponents could be in trouble.

9. Derik Queen | Toronto Raptors

Maryland | Position: C | Height: 6-10
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 9 (3)

Skilled and gifted with the ball in his hands, offense won’t ever be the issue if he’s given the reps to take the keys.

10. Kasparas Jakucionis | Houston Rockets

Illinois | Position: G | Height: 6-6
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 10 (30

Dimes will be dropped, with the accuracy of his 3-pointer ultimately determining how much space he’ll have to operate.

11. Collin Murray-Boyles | Portland Trail Blazers

South Carolina | Position: F | Height: 6-7
Status: Sophomore
Most Common: 11 (3)

A stout defender who will need the size to play up (and the shot to fall) for his full potential to be achieved.

12. Carter Bryant | Chicago Bulls

Arizona | Position: F | Height: 6-8
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 14 (3)

The defense is there, but low usage leaves many questions about his offensive profile.

13. Noa Essengue | Atlanta Hawks

Ratiopharm Ulm (Germany) | Position: F | Height: 6-10
Status: International
Most Common: 13 (4)

The Draft’s second-youngest prospect, and a raw offensive product who projects a 3-and-D floor.

14. Egor Demin | San Antonio Spurs

Brigham Young | Position: G | Height: 6-9
Status: Freshman
Most Common: 13 (4)

Huge guard is ready to dish ’em out. But will his turnovers and developing shot scare off suitors?
