The Cincinnati Reds will look to get in the win column in Atlanta tonight after dropping the first two games of their 4-game series against the Braves.
Starting Lineups
Starting Pitchers
Hunter Greene
The 2025 season has been a continuation of what Hunter Greene started in 2024. He’s had one bad start so far this season, but has been outstanding in the other six starts he’s made. He’s leading the league with a 0.82 WHIP and has walked just eight batters while striking out 55 of the 165 hitters he’s faced (33%).
Greene has dominated right-handed hitters this season. They are hitting just .147 and have only walked three times. They also aren’t hitting for any power. Lefties aren’t hitting for much average or drawing walks. They are hitting for power, though, when they do find hits.

Grant Holmes
Consistency has been an issue for Holmes this season. He’s struggled several times this season to find the strikezone. He may be coming off of his best start of the season, though, as he allowed two runs in 6.0 innings and had nine strikeouts with just two walks against the Dodgers last week.
The splits in 2025 are extreme for Holmes. He has dominated left-handed hitters, holding them to a .133 average and a .150 slugging percentage. Right-handed hitters aren’t hitting for a great average against him, but they are drawing walks and hitting for a ton of power. In 2024 his splits were a lot more even with lefties hitting for a higher average but less power.

News and Notes
Rece Hinds up, Noelvi Marte to the IL
If you saw the lineup above then you likely noticed that Rece Hinds is in it, which also means you probably pieced together that he was called up from the minor leagues. He’s taking the spot on the roster of Noelvi Marte who landed on the 10-day injured list with a strained oblique. Hinds has been hitting well with Louisville and you can read more about just how hot he’s been over the last two weeks from our piece earlier today.
Jake Fraley out
Jake Fraley won’t be in the Reds lineup tonight because of left calf tenderness. Hope to get more info later.

Rhett Lowder bested in his first rehab start
Last night in Arizona the Reds had Rhett Lowder make his first rehab start. He allowed two runs on four hits (including the 2-run home run) in 3.0 innings and he had five strikeouts. Somehow he wasn’t even the most notable pitcher on the mound in the game. The complex league Dodgers had….. Clayton Kershaw starting on their side. We wrote a bit more about the game and the performances this morning if you’re interested.
