While CBSE has not yet confirmed an official result date, the results are likely to be declared between May 7 and May 12, 2025. However, some sources suggest the possibility of an announcement as early as May 2 or as late as May 20. Historically, results have been declared around 1:00 PM IST, and CBSE has dismissed circulating rumors about a May 2 release.
Over 42 lakh students appeared in CBSE 2025 board exams
In 2025, approximately 42 lakh students appeared for the CBSE board examinations. The Class 10 exams were conducted from February 15 to March 18, 2025, while Class 12 exams took place from February 15 to April 4, 2025. The exams were held at 7,842 centers across India and in 26 countries worldwide.
A total of 24.12 lakh students registered for Class 10 exams and appeared at 7,780 centers. For Class 12, 17.88 lakh students were registered. Schools were required to upload practical exam marks by February 14, 2025.
Expected pass percentages and paper difficulty
Based on reports indicating that the 2025 question papers were of easy to moderate difficulty, the Class 10 pass percentage is expected to be higher than 93%. For Class 12, the projected pass percentage is around 87–88%, consistent with the 2024 pass rate of 87.98% and 2023’s 87.33%.
Performance trends and past results
In 2024, 93.60% of Class 10 students passed, while 87.98% cleared Class 12. Girls continued to outperform boys, with Class 12 girls achieving a 91.52% pass rate compared to 85.12% for boys. Transgender students had a 50% pass rate. Trivandrum, Vijayawada, and Chennai were the top-performing regions in both Class 10 and 12.
How to check CBSE results online
Students can access their results using their roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth. Results will be available on cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and DigiLocker. The DigiLocker platform requires a 6-digit PIN and OTP verification.
Post-result procedures and revaluation
After results are declared, students can apply for rechecking and revaluation, with applications expected in late May to early June 2025. Fees range from Rs 100 to Rs 700, depending on the service. Supplementary exams are tentatively scheduled for July 15–22, 2025, with results expected in August.
CBSE will not publish a topper list to discourage unhealthy competition and will not officially calculate percentages.
