The Auburn Tigers have not won more than six games in a college football season since 2019 under previous head coach Gus Malzahn.
Auburn is trying to get back to that level under current head coach Hugh Freeze. On Wednesday, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that the Tigers are hosting former Miami Hurricanes and Arizona Wildcats cornerback Emmanuel Karnley for a visit.

Karnley started his college career at Arizona in 2023, playing for the Wildcats for two seasons. He entered the transfer portal and landed with Miami in December.
He went back into the portal on Monday and is searching for his third team.

Karnley was a three-star prospect in the 2023 class via the On3 Industry Rankings.
He did not hold any offers from SEC programs out of high school. The Utah Utes, Washington Huskies, Nevada, Arizona State Sun Devils, Oregon State Beavers, Boston College Eagles, Washington State Cougars, San Diego State, UNLV and USC Trojans offered him.
Karnley, at 6 feet 3 inches, will bring height to whatever school’s secondary he joins. He also has a lot of eligibility left, as he used his redshirt season in 2023 at Arizona.

Last season, Karnley played in 10 games and recorded 16 total tackles with five pass breakups.
Auburn’s transfer portal class this offseason has been nothing short of impressive. The Tigers’ class is highlighted by quarterback Jackson Arnold (Oklahoma), defensive lineman Jay Hardy (Liberty), linebacker Xavier Atkins (LSU) and receiver Eric Singleton Jr. (Georgia Tech).
Auburn also returns the likes of receiver Cam Coleman, offensive lineman Connor Lew, and offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright.
The Tigers and Freeze open the 2025 season against the Baylor Bears on Aug. 30.
