Assassin's Creed Shadows Teases First Special Collaboration Later This Month

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is making its first venture into collaborations very soon.

Late last month, Ubisoft released its development roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and one thing it teased for late May alongside the game’s second major update is its first special collaboration.

Now we know that crossover will be with Dead by Daylight.

Ubisoft announced it in a brief, cryptic social media post, but didn’t tell us much about what the crossover will entail, just that it’s coming on May 27.

The roadmap teases multiple special collaborations as future free content releases, and Dead by Daylight is just the first.

Collaborations in Assassin’s Creed games tend to include special missions and cosmetic items, so it’s safe to assume that this will be the same, especially based on the wording in the announcement.

The Assassin’s Creed series has seen a wide variety of crossovers throughout the years, both in the games themselves and beyond, including multiple with the Final Fantasy series, one with Destiny 2, and a recent Magic: The Gathering set, to name a few.

The late May update will also include some significant changes to the game’s parkour system, after the recent update already made some alterations, and tweaks to the game’s photo mode.

Ubisoft is coming out the gate hard with a collaboration event for a game that’s only two months old, and it sounds like it’s only the first of many, especially if this is an indication of how frequently we can expect them to release.

It’s also just one of many crossovers for Dead by Daylight, which has become a kind of hall of fame of well-known horror villains at this point. The game has received playable killers from both Resident Evil and the works of Junji Ito in 2025 alone to go with its existing roster of infamous killers from video games and movies.

This wasn’t the only Assassin’s Creed-related news to drop today, since we also received a long-awaited update to the live-action show based on the series that’s been in the works at Netflix for some five years.
