AJ Styles gives his surprising take on Logan Paul ahead of their big match later tonight at WWE WrestleMania 41.
RAW Superstar AJ Styles was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio. While discussing his WrestleMania opponent, Logan Paul, Styles compared Paul to WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle due to his ability to pick up the business as quickly as he has.
“Let me tell you about Logan Paul,” AJ Styles began. “If you’ve ever had the opportunity to watch his matches, you’ll know that dude’s an athlete. And he catches on fast. He reminds me of like a Kurt Angle. Because if you watch Kurt Angle, he just accelerated so fast as becoming an amazing performer, like so quickly. I feel like Logan Paul is part of that, where he just learns — he doesn’t make the same mistake twice.”
When issues with Paul’s ego are brought up, Styles believes that his ego is what got him to WWE in the first place.
“Well, that ego’s got him to where he’s at, right? He’s in the WWE despite whether we want him to be here or not,” AJ Styles said. “He is here because of that ego.”
When asked if he believes Paul has earned the boys’ respect with the effort he’s put in, Styles said he doesn’t disagree with that.
“I don’t disagree with that,” AJ Styles said. “I think that he hasn’t put in the effort that guys like we have. The way we came up was very different. So is it the same? Not exactly, but he’s got other stuff going on.”
