Top Flight are interviewed backstage.

Dante Martin yells into the camera that if Maxwell Jacob Friedman wants to stick his nose in their business, he might just get it bitten off. Darius adds that they didn’t call MJF out last week, they came out to challenge the Hurt Syndicate, and they still want those tag titles!

Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara roll up and Rhodes gives Top Flight a pep talk, telling them they’ll be underestimated but he believes they have what it takes and he’ll be watching.

Ricochet vs. Zach Gowen

Feeling out, Gowen on one leg in the mat grappling, Ricochet bails to the floor and Zach dives on him and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Gowen up top, tornado DDT blocked, Ricochet rams him into the corner and lays a big chop in, 450 splash… NOPE! Shooting star press… STILL NO! Ricochet goes and gets the scissors, referee Rick Knox takes them away and while he’s distracted, Gowen clocks Rick with his own prosthetic leg! Turning to the cover… NOT ENOUGH!

Ricochet wins by pinfall with Spirit Gun.

Post-match, Ricochet attacks Gowen more, blasting him with a Penalty Kick! Mark Briscoe makes the save!

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is interviewed backstage.

He says he doesn’t like working hard and he doesn’t want to wrestle unless he knows he can win, and if he gets to be part of the Hurt Syndicate he knows the variables will be reduced dramatically. And if he doesn’t—

The Hurt Syndicate roll up and Montel Vontavious Porter tells Max that after their match it is IMPERATIVE that he join them in the ring. Bobby Lashley’s smiling like the cat that ate the canary so you know it’s no good for him.

Post-match, Lashley puts the Hurt Lock back in and won’t let go!

Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara come out and Dustin asks Bob if he thinks he looks like a badass like that when he actually just looks like an ass.

MVP says he has a lot of respect for Rhodes and his father, who he was tight with, and because of that he’s gonna hold his killers back from leaving them laying in a puddle of their own blood right now, and he asks what they want. Rhodes holds up his ROH tag and trios belts and says it’s obvious what they want.

CRU make their entrance.

They don’t mean any disrespect but they disrespect Dustin and Sammy and says they’ve been coming out here week after week scouting the tag team competition and they beat Top Flight. Lio Rush asks Bobby what’s up and asks, in respect of what they’ve got and their past together, that they give CRU a tag title shot.

Dustin tells CRU nto tjump in line and says he’s gonna teach them some respect for their elders. They bicker, MVP’s had enough and says he’s had enough and he has other business to tend to, so he wants them to have a #1 contender’s on Collision and the winner gets a title shot at Double or Nothing.

Montel says he’s got the signal that they’ve got thirty seconds to break, so stick around for them to give MJF his answer.

Back from commercial, Montel Vontavious Porter is on the mic and says it’s time for Maxwell Jacob Friedman to get what’s coming to him.

MJF’s music plays but he doesn’t appear, so MVP asks Shelton Benjamin to go find him and help him to the ring.

Benjamin trots off to Gorilla and asks Tony Khan where Friedman is. TK excitedly points behind him and slowly Max rises up and nervously says he was looking for Shelton! Benjamin grabs him by the neck and helps him out the aisle and into the ring.

MVP says they’ve had the discussion and they know what’s coming, so once again, thumbs time. Montel’s thumb is up, Shelton’s thumb is up, Bob’s got a big grin on his face as he walks over and puts an arm around Max’s shoulder and sticks his fist out. The thumb goes out and rotates up, rotates down, rotates back to center… BOBBY LASHLEY GIVES HIM THE THUMBS UP! MJF IS IN THE HURT SYNDICATE!

Montel informs us they’ll have an official contract signing to induct Max into the Hurt Syndicate next week and raises Friedman’s hand!

And so we go to break.

Post-match, Toni gets up and gives Mina a “well you did it kid, good on you” look and we already get a match graphic for the title match at Double or Nothing!

AZM is being helped to the back when Mercedes Mone blindsides her and wrenches her back in the Statement Maker until Jamie Hayter makes the save and puts her in a crossface of her own! Jamie draws her up for Hayterade and flexes but security breaks it up and saves Mercedes!

Excalibur memorializes Sabu briefly before tossing to Taz, who gives Sabu a eulogy, saying he was aura before aura was a thing and he was loved by his peers and he throws a finger up and says he’s gonna miss him.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Maxwell Jacob Friedman is interviewed backstage.

He’s stoked to be in the Hurt Syndicate and once his lawyer, Mark Sterling, goes over the details and he signs the contract— Montel Vontavious Porter is upset at the introduction and refuses to shake Mark’s hand. Max asks if he would sign a contract without having a lawyer look it over and Montel admits he wouldn’t and the jovial mood is restored.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring with Nigel McGuinness to talk about Collision from Thursday.

McGuinness says he’ll make it quick and he wants to apologize to Tony for doing what he told Schiavone not to do, get in the ring when you’re an announcer, and the other person he wants to apologize to is Daniel Garcia.

Enter Daniel Garcia.

Nigel says he let his ego get the better of him and he cost Danny the victory and the winner’s purse, and from the bottom of his heart he apologizes and says his place is at the announce desk and not in the ring. Garcia says he can keep his apology to himself, because he did exactly what he was supposed to do after FTR disrespected him.

FTR tried to end his career and tried to end Adam Copeland’s career, and given the opportunity they’ll try to end McGuinness’s career too. He’s gonna fight them with or without Nigel, so he can turn his back, commit to not being a wrestler anymore, but it would be his honor if McGuinness would stand with him and fight FTR.

Enter Stokely Hathaway.

He says he can’t believe he’s seeing two burnouts argue which is the bigger disappointment and adds that FTR isn’t here this week. What Nigel did was egregious, he almost broke Dax Harwood’s jaw and separated Cash Wheeler’s shoulder, so what’s his problem? Nigel says his problem is when someone puts hands on him, he puts hands back, and for that he’s so, so sorry.

Stoke says that apology does nothing, he put hands on FTR, and there are repercussions and consequences for that. He had a pow wow with FTR and decided McGuinness should be punished by having to wrestle them, so FTR can’t be suspended or held accountable for what they do to him and to Danny Boy here.

McGuinness admits that’s why he doesn’t want to wrestle, they’re ten time tag champions and he and Garcia have barely had a conversation and they’ll kill him. Daniel says they might kill him but they’ve both been overcoming the odds their entire careers, so let’s give the people something they never thought they’d see!

Stoke says Nigel can sit behind his desk as the Al Bundy of commentary, reliving his glory days, and how can he beat FTR when he barely beat hepatitis? DAX AND CASH BLINDSIDE NIGEL AND DANIEL! They want the spike piledriver but “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard makes the save, crowbar in hand!

Commentary hypes up Saturday’s episode of Collision and we go to break.

Jon Moxley (c) vs. Samoa Joe (AEW World Championship Steel Cage Match)

Circling, Joe grabs a front chancery and Moxley backs him into the corner. Shoved off, front kick, big chop and a headbutt from the challenger! Trading right hands, Jon goes into the cage, Samoa with the jabs and then a shoulder block into the steel! Wading chops into the corner, Joe hammering him down with headbutts!

Facewashes, big windup, Penalty Kick connects and Joe drops the elbow for a nearfall! Boot up in the corner, Mox kicks his knee out from under him, chop block follows! Elbow drops, kneeling toehold, seated senton to the knee, spinning toehold to the figure four leglock! Samoa reverses the pressure and Jon gets the ropes and Joe breaks!

Trading elbows in the middle of the ring, Mox lands a big boot and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Moxley busted open and his blood all over Joe’s bicep! Trading elbows as the camera shows us that both men have their seconds at ringside now, Jon pokes Joe in the eye and decides he’s just gonna climb out! Samoa pulls him down with an Atomic Drop, a Manhattan Drop, the big boot, the senton… NOPE!

Arm-trap crossface applied, Moxley crawling and desperate, he almost taps but he gets the ropes! Joe gets him up top, looking for the Muscle Buster, Jon claws at his eyes and bites his face! Jumping over, big lariats, elbows, Joe fires back with a boot but Moxley hits an Ace Crusher to keep control, into a cover, only two!

Looking for a cross armbar, instead he gets the bulldog choke, Turner checks Joe’s hand but he’s not done yet! Whip across, float over, front kick, Paradigm Shift connects… BUT SAMOA JOE ISN’T STAYING DOWN YET! THE COQUINA CLUTCH IS IN AND CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI IS CLIMBING THE CAGE BUT WILLOW NIGHTINGALE PULLS HIM DOWN!

Will Hobbs chases Wheeler YUTA and Rock Bottoms him over the barricade and through the timekeeper’s table! A mystery man in a hoodie passes Moxley the briefcase…

Jon Moxley wins by pinfall with a briefcase shot to the forehead, retaining the AEW World Championship.

Post-match, the mystery man is revealed as Gabe Kidd! Claudio Castagnoli distracts Hobbs and Kidd uppercuts him in the gentleman’s area!

The Young Bucks make their entrance as Marina Shafir helps a bloodied and battered Moxley to his feet.

Nicholas offers a hand to the world champion but—

Enter Kenny Omega, ready for a fight! V-Trigger on YUTA! Brawling with Castagnoli and putting him into the barricade, Kazuchika Okada gets him from behind with a shot right to the diverticulitis! He throws Ken into the ring and Matthew has the huge remote that controls the cage and re-lowers it!

BTE Trigger on Joe, boots to Omega, a Paradigm Shift spikes him!

Shane “Swerve” Strickland is here with Prince Nana!

Swerve climbs the cage and perches up top… DIVING SPLASH INTO THE CRUSH! Matthew gets the remote and desperately raises the cage! The Elite and the Death Riders run away and Strickland gets on the mic.

He says the last time he was in this city in this cage he got his brains beat in and stomped through a cinder block but here he is again! You think he fears anything? He IS the fear! He’s trhe most dangerous man in AEW, and he thinks with this collection of men and lady, that they want to cause a little anarchy.

Double or Nothing, Phoenix, Arizona… ANARCHY IN THE ARENA!

That’s the show, folks.
