2025 NBA playoffs: Highlights from Pistons’ Game 5 win over Knicks


The Detroit Pistons live to fight another game.

Detroit defeated the New York Knicks 106-103 in Game 5 on Tuesday to stay alive in the Eastern Conference first-round series. The victory means New York holds a 3-2 series lead.

Pistons guard Cade Cunningham had a team-high 24 points, while Tobias Harris added 22 points. Cunningham recorded his fourth game this postseason with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, tying Isiah Thomas in 1987 for the third most in a single playoff in Pistons history, according to ESPN Research.

OG Anunoby led the Knicks with 19 points, while Jalen Brunson struggled with 16 points on 4-of-16 shooting. Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges added 17 points apiece.

The Knicks have lost five consecutive series-clinching opportunities at home, the most consecutive defeats in such games in NBA postseason history.
