1.7 lakh women to get Subhadra Yojana money on April 24, says deputy CM Pravati Parida | Bhubaneswar News

BHUBANESWAR: Over 1.7 lakh beneficiaries, who have not yet received the first two instalments of Subhadra Yojana, will receive the money on April 24, deputy chief minister Pravati Parida said here on Saturday. Beneficiaries who applied by the March 31 but did not receive the money due to any reason will get it at a special event in Puri on April 24, she said.
Parida said the Puri event will mark the sixth phase of disbursal under the scheme, coinciding with the Panchayati Raj Divas celebrations. “Beneficiaries who applied by the March 31 deadline will receive both the first and second instalments, a total of Rs 10,000. The amount will be credited directly to their bank accounts through the direct benefit transfer (DBT) system. The govt is committed to ensuring timely support to eligible women,” she said.
For those who have not received benefits or have only received a single instalment so far, they can lodge their complaints through the toll-free grievance helpline no. 14678. Eligible complainants will be included in the subsequent phases of disbursal after verification, official sources said.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sept 17, 2024, the Subhadra Yojana is a flagship initiative of the state govt targeting over 1 crore women aged between 21 and 60 years. The scheme promises to provide financial incentive of Rs 50,000 over five years to each beneficiary, with an annual aid of Rs 10,000 provided in two instalments.
While more than 1crore women received the first instalment of Rs 5,000 in five phases, around 98 lakh women received the second instalment on March 8 this year, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
